In accordance with the Statutory Duties of the Municipal Clerk of the State of New Jersey as described in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133 et seq. the New Jersey Municipal Clerk is the Chief Administrative Officer in all elections held in the municipality and the Chief Registrar of Voters in the municipality subject to the requirements of N.J.S.A. 19
Register to Vote
To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- A United States Citizen
- At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
- A resident of the County for 30 days before the election
- A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States
Eligible residents may register by visiting the Borough Clerk's Office, Room 202 of Borough Hall. Our staff will be happy to assist you with registering and will even mail the registration to the County Superintendent of Elections on your behalf. Online registration is also available via the State's Voter Registration Website.
However you choose to register, please keep in mind that the Registration Deadline is always 21 days before an election
Prefer to Vote by Mail?
The deadline to apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot is seven (7) days prior to any election, if mailed to the Bergen County Clerk.

Recently moved to the Borough?
If you haven't already, you are encouraged to update your address with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) online. After you change your address with the MVC, you will be asked whether you would like to update your voter record; be sure to choose "YES", and the MVC will send a notice to the New Jersey Division of Elections, notifying them of your change.
An address change confirmation page will also be provided to you at the end of the transaction. The Bergen County Commissioner of Registration will notify you if your application is accepted. If it is not accepted, you will be notified on how to complete and/or correct the application.
If you have already changed your address with MVC, but want to be sure you are registered to vote in the Borough of Lodi you can confirm your registration by clicking the icon below and searching using the New Jersey Division of Elections' "Am I Registered" feature.
Once you confirm that you are registered to vote in the Borough of Lodi, you'll want to also confirm where your District's Polling Place is located. Become a Poll Worker
Poll workers now earn $300 for Election Day
You can apply to serve as a Poll Worker in New Jersey if you are:
- A United States Citizen and a resident of New Jersey
- A registered voter in the county in which you reside
- At least 16 years of age. College and High School students are encouraged to apply
Those under 18 year of age will work limited hours per shift and do not have to be registered to vote - Not running as a candidate
